The Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Barcelona, Spain

Although we stayed in Barcelona for five nights, we really only spent two solid days exploring the city. Despite our short time there, the gastro scene left a huge impression on me, especially because the city is so celiac-friendly.

QUICK TRANSLATOR

Soy celiaco (m), soy celiaca (f) = I am celiac

Sin gluten = gluten free (Spanish)

Sense gluten = gluten free (Catalan)

Here were my highlights...

Brunch at Brunch & Cake.

FOR BRUNCH

Brunch & Cake - some GF options
Copasetic Barcelona
Flax & Kale

FOR QUICK LUNCH

Mercado de la Boqueria
Santa Caterina Market
Conesa Entrepans -
GF sandwiches
Messié Sense Gluten - awesome GF pizza & smoothies
Ristorante Pizzeria
Cal Marius
Gula Sana Gluten Free Bakery

FOR DINNER

Llamber - the best meal of my whole trip! Massive GF menu. Try everything. Thank me later.
Cerveceria Catalana - second best meal of the trip.
Mussol - separate GF menu
Restaurant Gut - 100% GF
Restaurant en Ville - all GF
L'Arrosseria Xativa - awesome Paella

BONUS* BEST GF BAKERY: PASTISSERIA JANSANA

If you've been watching your friends stuff their faces with delicious baked goods the whole trip, you'll start getting hangry for something sweet. This bakery has AMAZING gluten free baked goods, including GF chocolate croissants!! I should've bought ten of these suckers. So hard to find GF croissants that are the right texture. I also bought a lemon meringue tart which was equally to die for.

I was so impressed with how many restaurants in Barcelona had at least something gluten-free on the menu and were familiar with celiac. I would eat my way back through this city in a heartbeat.
